I am looking for information about my father's family. My grandparents were Alexander (Sandy) Buchan and Elizabeth Finnie of Cherrybrae, near Newmill. Sandy's parents were John Buchan and Jane Grant. Elizabeth's parents were James Finnie and Elizabeth Hepburn. They were married 03July1897 in the parish of Ythan Wells. Elizabeth was born 12Apr1868 at Forgue. I don't have a birth date for Sandy. My father was George Buchan, born 15Jun1906 at Huntly. He had two older brothers, Alexander, who lived in adulthood at Sunnybrae croft, with his wife Maggie, and Albert who lived in Aberdeen with his wife Betty (Roberta Mutch). Jean Buchan Doherty |
