I am trying to find relatives of Geoffrey Young. He was killed in a Road Traffic Accident in 1964,at Sprotborough Sth Yorks and was my husbands father. According to Newspaper reports of the Accident he left a wife - Elizabeth and a son David born in about January 1963, and had been living a Brook St/ Rd Connisborough. ( This would have been a 2nd relationship) His Mother is listed in both the newspaper report and the marriage certificate between Geoffrey and my husbands mother - Marlene Jackson as Mrs Arthur Pearce of Kilnhurst Sth Yorks. Geoffrey's address at the time of his marriage to Marlene was 'The Rock Tavern, Kilnhurst' My Husband was Ian Young born in Mexborough Sth Yorks, in December 1962, now known as Ian Dunn - he was adopted in1965 by Marlene's 2nd husband after their marriage. We believe from what we have been told by his grandmother, that Geoffrey had at least 1 brother living in the Mexborough are during the 1960's. We know his father was called Stanley and had been RSM at Mexborough Drill Hall, and that Geoffrey had been in the Army in Germany, and worked for Yorkshire Traction and General Electric at Doncaster as an Engineer/ Mechanic. Geoffrey's funeral was held a Doncaster Rose Hill Crematorium, and memorial service was held at Kilnhurst Parish Church by his mother. Funeral Directors were White & Sons. Any information that would provide us with links to this side of the family would be gratefully appreciated. Francesca Dunn
