Trying to find my Cornish connections. James Coombe/Coombes b:1796 married Elizabeth? in Altarnun, Cornwall 1816. James was a Tin Streamer and Elizabeth was a Servant and living in Trenilk (1841 Census) before leaving Plymouth, via London on the 'Princess Royal' 15th Nov 1846 with most of their family and arrived in Port Adelaide 16th March 1847. They lived in Kapunda, South Australia for some time. One of their 12 children, James was my gggrandfather and he married Jane Stevens from Penzance. James was killed in 1862 in a mining accident in Victoria, Australia. Any help will be most welcome. Kind Regards, Lorraine Coombs Melbourne, Australia. |
