Trying to find Taylor

After numerous incorrect certificates I am hoping somebody out there will be able to help me. I am looking for birth date or some history on JAMES TAYLOR. My husbands grandfather. He died in WW2 on the SS CALCHAS. He was an able seaman and is marked on the memorial in London. Unfortunately his wife apparently never discussed him and all his children have passed away who might have known him.I have worked out his birth as the 1st or 2nd quarter of 1905. His fathers name is given as JAMES WHITESIDE TAYLOR on his wedding certificate to VIOLET ELLEN RUSHTON. They seem to come from the Liverpool area thank you
