Trying to find Houghton

I am trying to find descendants of William and Elizabeth Houghton who lived in Birmingham. William was the son of Stephen and Sarah Houghton, who worked on the Calthorpe estate in Elvetham, Hampshire and then in Birmingham. They were married in May 1844. Elizabeth's maiden name was Ashford. Although there were several children I think the most likely ones to have survived were :- 1) Amelia, born in 1848 who married John Holmes in 1877. They had a son Edward, born 1875 and a daughter, Ada, born in 1877. 2) Elizabeth, born in 1850, who married Edwin Holmes in 1874, I don't know anything about their children. 3) Thomas, who married Ellen Jennens in July 1877. They had William, born in 1879, Ellen, born 1882, Thomas, born 1884, Sidney, born 1892, Frank, born 1895 and Elsie, born 1899. If you are descended from any of these people I would be delighted to hear from you. |
