My Grandfather was George Arnold born in 1845. Two wives and some 17 children. They seemed to be a family of Balcksmiths/Wheelrights/Publicans. !st wfe Charlotte and 2nd Eliza who he married in 1891. As far as I know they lived all there lives on the Isle of Weight, and in later years Newport and I can remember them both. I must have mountains of relatives somewhere, and although my mother Ena was the youngest of the second family born in 1906 I do remember visiting relatives as a little girl. I have got back as far as 1813 when his mother Francis Riddle and father John Arnold were together. I hesitate to say married as there is no documentation of that I can find. Anyone who thinks they are related I have lots of stories to tell. Maureen |
