That christening is also on BVRI. They give date of birth there as 1 Sept.

Andrew,

Many, many thanks for getting this information for me - much appreciated.
I can now go a bit further with my research.Yes, indeed, there is an Altcar south west of Ormskirk.

Dear Glenys,
I was in Preston yesterday so had a quick look for your Mary. According to the BT's,
born: 15th Sept (date very difficult to read but I think it was 15)
baptised : 17th Sept, as you said.
Abode: Altcarr (again almost impossible to read so could be incorrect but there is an Altcarr in that area I think)
Father William, a labourer and his wife Ann
The officiating minister was Geo Holden
Hope this helps.

Is anyone intending to visit Preston Record Office, if so would they be kind enough to look up the following for me please? - St.Cuthberts Church, Halsall. Baptisms. 17th September 1820, Mary Halsall was baptised. I would like all the details of her parents and their addresses, if given. Thank you.
