I am part of the Drane family in Australia. My grandfather was James Bartholomew Drane (and I believe his father was also James Bartholomew) who was born May 17, 1865, at Northwold or Swapham in Norfolk, although his birth was registered at Downham Market in Norfolk. He married Jane Laker (who was born at Wandsworth in 1870) in Goulburn, Australia in 1889. He was a signwriter. I don't know if he had any siblings but would like to hear from any members of his family in England. There may be a relationship with a Jessie Drane. A note in a family Bible says: 'Dear Father born April 17th 1836. Dear Mother born August 5th 1826 and Aunt Jessie May 22, 1816. |
