This is a long shot but I have been looking for my Grandmother's birth certificate (Annie May Allen born in Birmingham 5th July 1886) and have not been able to find it. Her mother, my Great Grandmother Rosetta Maria Hoskins, married for the second time in 1892 (in Newcastle) and she was a widow at this time. Her former name was Allen so I have also been looking for her first marriage certificate without success. This could have taken place any time from 1877 onwards but could equally have been in Birmingham, Newcastle or Bromley as she lived in these areas at various times. I have found Rosetta in the 1891 Census staying with Stephen E Doughty and his wife in Newcastle on Tyne, she had 4 year old Annie may with her. She was an Allen at this time. I have only latched onto the Birmingham link as my Grandmother was born there.
