he Mazonas name has something of an interesting history... Una Packouskus and George Mazonas lived in Lithuania and imigrated to the UK. On arrival here theirs, and their childrens, names were edited to better match the UK alphabet, but the translation was performed incorrectly. My Grandad, for example, is called Peter Mazonas, translated from Patruka, which should be treated as a form of Patrick. Because of this, the name Mazonas is sort-of a made-up name. Therefore, anyone in England with this surname is a direct descendant of Una, George and their 12 children. I'd really love to see how far the Mazonas name has spread since then!
