Hi George,
Just looked at the 1891 census.
Walter and family was at the same address in Durham. Allthe childrens ages match. Margery is not there. Jane's maiden name was Milne. They all was born in Arbroath.
I think the family that Fay researched is one and the same family I looked at.
Walter and Jane married on the 29 March 1867 in Arbroath.

A little more info from the 1901 census that i looked at HAS Walter as a Iron Moulder. Just some thing else to confuse you.

Hello George,
My name : Michael Lawrence
but I don't think we are related.
Walter Lawrence and his wife Jane are in the 1901 census living in the town of Felling County Durham. With them are 3 offspring, Marjory 23, Joesph 22, William 19, also Charles Dudley who is Marjory's husband.

My name: George Lawrence b 1940. Does anyone have any info on Walter Lawrence born Angus Scotland married Jane (?) born Arbroath. (great uncle of mine) Children James 1871 George 1873 Walter 1874 Margery 1876 Joseph 1879 moved to Newcastle on Tyne 1877-1879. He worked in the Iron trade. Believe he was still in Newcastle in 1901.
