I am searching for Lavericks who lived in and around Beamish/Pelton near Chester le Street in County Durham. They were all coal miners. My grandfather was George, my father, his son Lawrence, known as Larry (my mums name Vi,) he had two full brothers (Tom aka Pat,) married Vera, and Bob who married Beattie) and an older half brother (George aka Dodie)married to Mary, and a sister (Frances) who married Mick Bell. My grandmothers name was Charlotte and she died around 1948 in Beamish. She was interned in Beamish church. I would like to find out more about my grandfather and grandmother's parents, siblings........... I understood from dad that he had cousins in or around South Shields, the name Meggie or Maggie Murray sticks in my memory. All of the above have passed on now. Anyone shed any more light. I am Jean Wylie nee Laverick, living in Canada.

Hi Jean,

Most of my family were coal miners and came from the Hetton-le-Hole area of County Durham. I come from South Shields as does my father.

I would be very happy to let you view my tree so you can see if we have any shared ancestors.

Best wishes,
Tony Laverick
