I have traced my OAKES line, here in America, back to John Oakes who married Experience Walcott in Salem, Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1732. These are clearly descendants of the Puritan migration to this area in the early 17 century. This is the location of my 'brick wall'. I was wondering if anyone looking at a situation like this from the English perspective might have a suggestion on how to proceed. Floyd Oakes Oregon, USA |
