It did occur to me that the "fella" might have taken on a false identity.

Also...what happened to her kids? They certainly weren't with them on their trip to Canada.

Thanks Sue

Was there one with her travelling with anyone else then...or is it possible that the Elijah Durrant on passenger list is not really Elijah Durrant!! (I found that this side of my family have done alot of 'cover up's) Would they have had to show photographic passports as you do now days, or how would it have worked.
Thanks
Ian

Also on that 1901 census does it provide their occupations and relations etc, furthermore where would Dorothy's father be, he is not listed on 1901 census!
Thanks

Lol Julie,
I meant that Dorothy could have tried to run off with the fella between getting married 1919 and sailing with Elijah in 1928.
He'd be a very forgiving man though :0))

Ian that birth you have just had sent looks better!!
1901 says born 1900 and Mutford is the right area.
I didn't see that entry.

4th qtr 1899
Dorothy Elizabeth Parker, Mutford, Norfolk, Suffolk
Vol: 4a, Page: 1058
Which one is likely to be correct? Im confused, lol
Thanks
Ian

I have looked at the passenger list image, and the address for Dorothy and Elijah is Blunderstone, Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Elijah is also age 28 and his occupation is down as Farmer.

Hi
I have become stuck with my great grandmother Dorothy E Parker, she married my great grandad Elijah Durrant in Mutford, Suffolk in 1919.
I have been told by my aunt that Elijah worked at sea (in the Navy) and whilst he was away, Dorothy locked her young children (my grandma) in a bedroom in the house and ran away with another man!! The neighbours managed to get food parcels through a small window to the children until the police managed to break in...some days later!!!
Dorothy and her 'fella' got arrested in Callai about to board a ship to Canada!

The problem is i am having trouble locating her birth, i believe she was born around 1898, possibly in Suffolk. I cannot locate a death for her either!

Furthermore, i am unaware whether she got put in prison, whether she eventually did travel to Canada, with her 'fella' or on her own! Whether she remarried, had further children etc, can anyone help at all.

Thanks
Ian Hale
