Hi,

Have access to Canadian and American Ancestry (well OK.. World Ancestry).. So anyone wanting me to look for ancestors in Census, Birth, death, passengers list or anything, then please post with any info that you do know.

The only Censuses that Canada Ancestry have are..

1851 Census of Canada (East, Canada West, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia only)
1906 Census of Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta only)

(Just noticed from this post apparently 1901 and 1911 are free elsewhere so I won't list it above).

Hi Tracey,
Thanks for your very kind offer. I've lost my ggrandfather after 1901. His name is David Hatelie and he was born in Montreal in c1864. He married Rhoda L Fowler in Devonport, England in 1885 and was a Chief Engineer in the Royal Navy.
I have no idea when he came over to England and can find no death certificates for Rhoda or him and so am wondering if they returned to Canada. If they did they left three children behind and I don't know why they would do this.
I know it's a long shot but if you could see if they're on the 1911 census I would be very grateful and maybe a birth for david?

Ever Hopeful
Liz

Hi Lesley,

There are so many Margaret Taylor with approx year.. Most of them says Widowed or Married - no one else with her in many passengers list. So I cant pick one out and say it's her.

Sorry,

Hi
I wondered if you could find any information on my great uncle.
Claude Richard Monckton b1888 Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.

The Times dated Friday 29th 1912 notes his marriage banns to Margaret Thompson married on 8th November 1912 All Saints Parish Church, Edmonton by Reverend Canon Webb.

The last trace I have of him is a piece written in the Times - stated he was married and living in Edmonton Canada. Injured during the war fighting alongside the Canadians unable to attend his mother's funeral due to being in hospital with injuries - mother's funeral was 1919.

I cannot trace him any further no children, divorce or death.

Any little information to get past this brick wall would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
Miah

Hi Tracy

Thanks for the kind offer. Could you please do a search for me. I will give as much info as I can.

My gr gr grandmother was born in Harrison, Hudson, New Jersey.
Name: Lavinia Highet/Lovinia Hyatt
Born according to mormon record 20th Nov 1889
Father: Thomas Highet/Hyatt-he was born Kilmarnock Scotland
Mother Emma Ball- To family knowledge born in New Jersey

At times Highet was known as Highgate.

Lavinia and her father returned to Scotland in time for 1901 census.

I would also like to find a death for Emma, and marraige cert for Emma and Thomas. This side of my family are proving to be quite a mystery.

Thanks
Joy

Hi Miah,

I'm afraid this is all I have on Claude MONCKTON

Canadian Soldiers of World War I, 1914-1918

Name Birth Date Residence Relative

Claude Monckton 16 Jan 1887 M Monckton
Claude Monckton 16 Jan 1888 Mrs Margaret Monckton

I can send you the images of his records if needed? Both are same people but at different time.

Sorry,

Hi Joy,

Joy Report 22 Sep 2007 12:08

Hi Tracy

I do not know her date of birth, but Thomas was born in 1859 in Kilmarnock Scotland. He remarried in Scotland in 1900, on his death certificate in 1901 Emma Ball is one of two widows named., so maybe she was around the same age as him.

As Lavinia is quite an unusual name I looked up Lavinia Ball on familysearch, as she may have been named after her Granny. There was a Lavina Ball born to Isaac Ball and Sarah Jacobus in Bloomfield Essex New Jersey in 1814. I am trying to find a needle in a haystack, but just maybe-a big maybe Isaac and Sarah are the correct family.

Thanks for your time
Joy
