I am looking for the grandsons of Harry Fryer senior who was a merchant seaman and was on the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary 1, Harry Fryer married my Great Aunt Ellen Sparks who was born in Southampton in 1897 and they had one son called Harry Fryer junior who we know was the sports editor for one of the Southampton local newspapers, Harry Fryer junior married Rita Schell the year of that marriage is unknown.

Sadly I do not have the names of the two sons that Harry Fryer and his wife Rita but thier sons were born in the 1950's.

The family lived in and around Southampton from the 1920's onward.

Hello Tristan

I have a Fryer family also living in Southampton - my maiden name being Fryer - and the family are merchant seamen too.

My paternal grandfather was a Stoker (or fireman on ship) on the Titanic (Albert Ernest Fryer born around 1885) and his father Charles Fryer born around 1854 was a stoker too on the South Western shipping line which went from Southampton to St Malo via the Channel Islands. Alberts 2 brothers were also Stokers on the ships James and Alfred.

Does this ring any bells to you?
