Find Ancestors

I am trying to find out anything about the Holton family who resided in Croyden around 1871. My paternal grandmother was born whilst her mother was visiting them and Mary A Holton of Rose Cottage Windmill Road Croydon registered her birth in 1871.

Can anyone help?

Yes you are right Hannah was I thinkl the first wife it is Mary A Holton in the 1871 census - I have so many names I am searching for I just got them misxed up lol

I know - she seemed to come from nowhere and went to nowhere it is very very strange. Annie's father on her marriage cert states a Spencer Doming as her father but even him I cant find anything out.

Looks like she was born out of wedlock and farmed off into the country for the birth. Relatives maybe?

You seem to have found some very nice helpful people to help you in your search.
I notice there are some Holton names, in the informnation you have been given, that are common to my tree. My mother was a Holton, born 1912. Her mother was a Lucy Eldridge and her father Albert Holton 1878. His siblings were Mary 1870
Arthur 1875 Mary Ann no date and three other who I have no names for. His father & G/F were both called William.
Does any of these names ring any bells?
My G/F & GG/F were foundery works and come from S London area, Camberwell, Southwark, Mitcham etc.
