Hi Diane

Not saying that it's the same family but I used to live in Rochford 1960-1970 and there used to be a garage opposite the Railway Station owned by the Whittingham family which had been in their family for many years father & son etc. Dont know if this might help you

Hi Julie

I would like to take up your kind offer, too.

I am looking for a marriage for Dorothy L Whittingham. She was born in Sep Q 1890 In Rochford and was last seen in the 1901 census.

I won't be surprised if you cannot find one, as I have the impression that this branch of the family died out.

Julie

If I may take you up on your very kind offer...
I am looking for a Baptism

William Elcock at Fobbing. In a settlement examination of 1815 he gives his age as 30 so probably about 1785. Parents are probably William and Sarah.

Many thanks
Chris

I can look up Bapts and Marriages upto 1930's, deaths only up to 1899 at my local library ESSEX only. I do need a Parish name and in bigger towns the church name is helpful.

I will PM you the info within a week.
Closing November 10

Julie.
