I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I've only just refound this post! Thank you so much for finding that out for me. What I can tell you is that their first child was born during the voyage over and they had another 5 children after that. Thomas died in 1911 in Lara(a town in Victoria, Australia) and Elizabeth in 1893 also in Lara. They were my 4x great grandparents.

Was there marriage in England? We could look what area they married? Did they have children over here? Have you found them on the 1841 census?

What is his profession

I'm trying to find the ancestors of Thomas Groves and Elizabeth Tyler. They immigrated to Australia from England in 1848 aboard the Mahomed Shah.
Thomas was born around 1823 and I have no other details of him before he came to Australia.
Elizabeth was born around the same time 1820? and her parents were john Tyler and Johannah (surname not known).
If anyone has any information they would be willling to share it would be most appreciated. Thank you.
