Thanks, Victoria. That wasn't him but I have found him on the 1871 census. The names of the other family members match and he is listed as a carpenter. I don't know how I managed to miss it......I can only think I must have been tired! |

Hi, thanks for the info, I have been trying to check it but when I search the 1861 census, the only one I get is one who lived at Basford ,Notingham and was a blacksmith. The wives' names don't match yours.. Can you let me know the source for your information so that I can get to the original documents and check what little I know against the one you sent me. There are only twp George Lowes listed in Nottingham in the census on genes reunited and niether of them match yours. |

George Lowe seems to have dropped off the radar! He was in Nottingham in 1867 because that was the year his son Thomas Lowe married. His occupation is listed as joiner on the marriage cert. Thomas was 19 when he married Sara Ann Cobb also 19. Thomas was a tailor. Thomas's address was Sussex street in Nottingham but I cannot locate George in Sussex street, most likely Thomas was in lodgings as most of the houses in Sussex street were cheap boarding houses. |
