Have you looked at a site "The lost trawlermen of Hull" You'll probably find your grandfather listed there. My maternal grandmother was a Lee but she came from Ramsgate to Hull with several other fishing families. We also had family members lost at sea.
Good hunting Nora

Does anyone know of the Lee family who originated from Hull-
My grandfather John Lee born 1910 fisherman lost at sea 1936.
His father Edward/Edwin Lee born about 1859/60 boiler makers labourer on the trawlers
his father Matthew Lee born about 1811 possibly in Mirfield but not sure.
one of Edwards children-Emma married into the Foster family who also lived in Hull ,she married Christopher B Foster in 1921-are there any relatives of the Foster family still living in Hull now who knew her?
