Job Bradshaw (1804 - 1877) and his wife Mary (1809 - 1873) lived in Nottingham and had 12 sons, although 4 died in infancy, and finally a daughter. The names of their surviving children are as follows:

John Mills Bradshaw, 1834 - 1922
William Bradshaw, 1836 - 1920
Henry Bradshaw, 1837 - 1888
George M Bradshaw, 1842 - 1881
Albert Septimus Bradshaw, 1843 - 1914
Alfred Bradshaw, 1844 - 1883
Charles Bradshaw, 1847 - 1886
Frederick Frank Bradshaw, 1851 - 1890
Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw, 1854 - 1947 (later married and became Littlewood)

Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw kept a small Bible where she detailed the dates (and in some instances) the exact time of the births and deaths of all her brothers. I have come into possession of this Bible and would like to pass it on to a direct descendant if possible.

However, I have only been able to trace one descendant, Vernon Albert Mills Bradshaw, son of Albert Septimus and Annie Bradshaw nee Cropper. Vernon was born in December 1882 and married Henrietta Annie Foot in 1904. However, it appears Vernon died in 1943 at 59 years of age in Coventry. I have not been able to trace any children from this marriage.

Did any of the other brothers have any children? The 1871 census shows William, Henry, George, Albert Septimus, Alfred and Frederick still living with their parents at Standard Hill, Nottingham, and therefore apparently still single although aged 44, 43, 38, 37, 36 and 29!!

I would love any information about this fascinating family and, if there are any descendants of the Bradshaw brothers, to be able to return Mary Elizabeth's Bible to them.

Please get in touch if you can help.
