So she was almost 22 when she married. It could still be your Ernest.

Also might be why he was out of favour with the children from his first marriage.

Hinckley IS in Leicestershire. (although Ernest was born & died in Leicester itself).
If we found Betty's birth, it would confirm her age & likelihood of whether the marriage to MY ernest is likely. ie if she is 17 and he is 58 - its not likely to be my Ernest, so I wont buy a cert!
Apart from a marriage cert to confirm this is the right marriage- the only other way is to make contact with their children.
I will see if I can find out more.

Have been through the registers from 1923 up to when Ernest died and only 2 marriages were recorded for and Ernest T Mann in that time. I discarded the first as it was in Edmonton, so here is the only other one

Ernest was my mums (half) brother, so I am obviously particularly interested in finding out as much about him, his dad and his decendents.

Did he re-marry? When? to whom? has he had other children???????

Have just found out that Ernest Mann & May Hickling got divorced - dont know when, but given that they had a child together in 1930 - I guess that the divorce was after that - can anyone find if they married again and to whom? I am particularly interested in what happened to Ernest as I believe that he was not in favour by his children who had nothing to do with him after the divorce.
Did he re-marry? When? to whom? has he had other children?

Any idea of May Hicklings date of death?? and or Ernest????

ps I notice that the census reveal that either Mary and / or John Hickling were India/ East Indies national subject - is there anywhere that I can be looking for more info??
