Hi all.....Is there anyone planning on going to the London Metropolitan Archives in the near future (or not so near future) ? if so could I ask a HUGE favour?? Could someone kindly look up a baptism entry for me for a Margaret BELILO. She was 4 months old on the 1841 census and I think I have narrowed her baptism down to the parish of St.Mark, Goodmans fields Whitechapel. Tower Hamlets archives informs me that these records are kept at the LMA. I have searched the GRO birth indexes many many times and under lots of different spellings without success. My next option is the Parish registrars. As I live a zillion miles away from London this is not as easy as it sounds! As she was 4 months old in 1841 the search would be from maybe Oct 1840 to the end of 1841. I would be ever so grateful for anyones help.
Thank you
Wendy

Don't know whether you realise, but LMA is closed 2 Nov to 21 Jan. Hope someone can go for you before then!

Thanks for that Ann, oh well have been searching for Gt.Grandmothers birth details for 3 years so I guess a few more months won't hurt.

Thanks again

Just to add to the confusion I should explain that I have Margarets marriage cert for 1871 and she gives her fathers name as William Belilo !! Her father on the 1841 census is down as Israel he died in 1859. Two of Margarets siblings Esther and Rosetta give their fathers name as Israel (deceased) on their marriage certs, another one Julia gives her fathers name as Henry, and yet another McCluff gives his as William, I know these are all the same family (addresses etc check out) so you can see why I need to double check the parentage of Gt Granny Margaret! This branch of my family have been one big challenge to say the least....
