please can some kind person help me find my g grandparents. they are george jones born 1864 born brookhampton salop and annie jones born 1867 hereford according to the 1901 census. they are living with 3 children in whaddon bucks. i sent off for their marriage certificate which says---aug 18th 1891 george jones 31 years batchelor second huntsman father john jones deceased farm labourer. annie preece age 25 spinster father james preece coal merchant. they were both living at audley the marriage was in nantwich and witnessed by henry brereton and m a wood. i can't find any trace of annie with james a coal merchant as her father. a family member has her as anne mary preece with siblings of ada, leila and christopher. i have a photo said to be leila and my grandmother spoke of her so i know she existed but i wonder was leila her given name or was she just known by that name. christopher ran away from home and joined the army he was underaged and changed his name to christopher james. i have found him in 1891 in the army and 1901 married. apart from that nothing. the unfortunate george commited suicide at the age of 46 i have his death certificate and a report of the inquest. i found him in 1891 in audley and in 1871 with eliza he was 8 and listed with eliza as servants. in 1861 census i found eliza with john jones in brookhampton but the relationships are very strange ? might the census collector have got muddled. |

Have checked the image for the 1871 above (for James's occupation - Labourer) and the name is actually Price. |
