Edward Smith d.o.b JFM 1911 in N.Bierley
Eveline Corley d.o.b AMJ 1918 in N.Bierley

were married OND 1937 in oldham

trying to find if they had a son called Joseph d.o.b ??

i think these are my grandparents and Joseph is my dad

please help

The only way to do it (which will take forever with a name like Smith) it to trawl through the birth indexes quarter by quarter for a Joseph Smith whose mothers maiden name is Corley.

If you have some idea when your father was likely to have been born it will narrow it down a bit.

Do you know when Joseph died? The GRO index will have age at death or date of birth which might help

worked as a

center lathe turner in oldham 1968 but i dont know which firm

his mum was called

eveline-evelyn

not sure about his dads name mum thinks it was Edward

this is all i know..

not much i know

Hi

Could joseph be a middle name that he was known by?

I have also checked 1937 -1945 for him no joy i even had a look at Corley in 1937 incase mum was un married at the time.
