look up 1841 / 51 please

Hi All

I am looking for a Jane Shapland born bath abt 1806 can anyone see if you can find her in 1841/51 Shapland would have been her married name any help would be most apperciated

Hi Julie,

i Dont,im only guessing this would have been a married name as she was born about 1806 and i think she married my ggg grandfather in 1850 i cant find a birth for her under Shapland so asummed maybe wrongly that this would have been a married name hope this make sense

What was you ggg g/dads name what would be easier to pick them both up in the 1851 then work back

hI juile,
i have my g grandfather married to someone else in1841 but she died 1848 can,t find a death for him only a marriage ( mayb) to this Jane as on the 51 census with him and Wife jane is his Daughter Jane.

So was trying to find out if this is the right couple and he did re marry!!!

Kath...what was his name...the 1841 is the hardest census to search as the ages were round at the mo there is no Jane matching what you are saying..thats why i need to pick them up in the 1851

sorry forgot to give name they are in 51 as Jane and Thomas Humphries in 41 he is with susanah but waiting forn her death cert to see whether it was Thomas who registed her death

Seeing as Jane the daughter is with Thomas on both census i'd say it was the right one, i would get the M/C and see what it says about Jane his wife..jane in the 41 could be mistranscribed
