I had a similar problem but when I phoned Glasgow they were very helpful it will only give details of his army career I think it might be worth a phone call and explain the situation and take it from there. Have you looked at thewww. cgwc.org web site the certificate gives details of his parents and also his aunt. Good luck

Hi Sandra. I am not connected but had a look for you.

Marriage of James Shaw Johnson to Beatrice E Hackforth. July/Sept. Qtr. 1919 registered in West Derby. Liverpool. vol 8b 1075.
Copy of this certificate will give you their ages, their Father's names and occupations, and witnesses who may be siblings.

I can find reg of a Beatrice Emily but this one would make her an older bride.
With details from the above we can maybe sort out the two of them. Ethel.

Hi there, looking for any help going, i'm trying to get any info i can on my grandfather and any of his relatives. His name was James(Jimmy) Shaw johnson born 1922 . His parents were called James Johnson and Beatrice Emily(Hackforth) they married in 1919 unsure when they died, Jimmy had an aunt who lived in Middlesex (Mrs M.B.Hackforth). Jimmy was born in Warwickshhire then moved onto live in Blackpool, he joined The Highland Light Infantry(city of Glasgow) where he was stationed at the Maryhill Barracks (Glasgow) where he met my Grandmother Nellie Angus , Nellie ended up pregnant with my Father (John). Jimmy had intended to marry Nellie but Nellie's mother forbid her to as Jimmy was of a different religion to the Angus family..Jimmy was then posted to France where he was later killed at war in 1944...
Many thanks
Sandi
