Hi Chris

Yes I did know about that infact I was in Scarborough this last week and the house in 1901 is still there! I have a picture of it - so cool! But there is still no clue as to why my dad ended up in an orphange. I have checked the war records in case Alfred died but can't find any reocord! Shame we do not have the same ancestry

Hi

Was interested in your search as I have both surnames in my tree. Unfortunately we do not seem to have a connection.
The Jowsey I have came from Co. Durham and the Fenwick from Middlesbrough.
Were you aware that in 1901 Georgina and her sister Martha were 'inmates' at an orphanage in Scarborough.

My Grandparents Alfred Ernest Fenwick andGeorgina (Jowsey) Fenwick (borne 1893 and 1895) seem to have got lost after they had my Dad George Fenwick - 1916 they were married in 1913 in Scarborough in St Mary's Church and lived in Regent Street. My Dad Was Orphaned (even Thought his Grandparents where still alive and living in Scarborough untill 1945! he died in 1989 not knowing any family) they also had a daughter Florence br 1914 and I can't find any more about her.

ANy help would be most welcome
