This is possibly the birth registration of their daughter Susannah. This should provide mother's maiden name.

Hi John,
The census definately says Glasgow and the other one says Scotland. I suppose they could have registered her birth in Nottingham if she was young enough. I found those on familysearch so maybe you could find something I've perhaps missed.
Good luck

Hi, Liz. George was born at Lenton so I will follow this through. Do you think that she could have been born in Glasgow but had her birth registered in Nottingham, perhaps because the family moved?

Also I will recheck the census forms because the writitng is so appalling I could have mistook Glasgow for something else?
Thanks for your help.
John

This marriage is around the right time and he was born in Lenton but there is no proof so far. It is also submitted.

I am trying to find my great grandmother, Mary Ann Lowe. Lowe is her married name and I would like to find her maiden name.
She was born in Glasgow in or around 1813. She was married to George Lowe, a carpenter, and was living in Nottingham in 1851 at Eley Court, Chesterfield street.
