I have a family member who on the 1891 census was 8 yrs b Woolwich kent
On the 1901 census was 18 yrs b India. His name was George W Adams.
I think the W would be William as his father was Henry William Adams mother Catherine Adams nee Carmen b India. Can anyone look up to see if George was b in Woolwich. Thanks.

Thanxs to all of you for searching. On the 1891 he is listed with family as George and initial undecided also 1901 as George W with his family, We really would like to know where he was born. I think if I send for the cert it may show him as Anglo Indian? I would like to know if sending for the right cert.!!

A British certificate wouldn't tell you that he was Anglo-Indian, I don't think.

You could send for a certificate, once you've picked out a possible match, specifying for example that the mother must be Catherine...then you would only pay part of the cost if it is the wrong one.
