Thanks Pete. The Lowes seem to have married in Lambeth in OND 1887 and their daughter Brenda was born in Richmond in JFM 1889 so that gives an idea of when they moved in there. They seem to have moved out to Bromley in Kent by 1910 when the son Lionel died at 20.

William BUCKLAND in Richmond

He is at 15 Jocelyn Road but the terraces are numbered so you may be able to check back down the street

Do you know if the street has been renumbered.

I did a lot of research for one GR member and the house shown on 1901 census was demolished in 1902 for a road widening scheme. That same street has been renumbered at least twice. So no. 54 now is not the same one as in 1901.

Not worth doing a house search unless you check other details first.

That's interesting - there are lots of places in the vicinity with Adelaide in the name.

In the 1891 Kelly's Jocelyn Rd has house name rather than numbers.

eg 2, Adelaide Villas Jocelyn Road.

Yes, I've found Mrs Phipps there in 1934 in Kelly's Directory.

George Lowes was in Jocelyn Rd in 1891 also. However the houses appear to be numbered by the trraces of houses.

I checked the street name on the historical Directories website. They helpfully had a Kelly's for 1901.

Although no occupant was listed for No 6 there was a named occupant in No 10. Just searched for him on the 1901 census in Richmond and looked up the page a couple of entries.

A friend has asked me to find the history of her house, 6 Jocelyn Rd, Richmond, Surrey TW9 2TH.

Would anybody be able to tell me who lived there in 1901 - or any other dates please?
