Bastardy Bond failure

An ancestor was in prison for failure to pay Bastardy Bonds on the 1851 Census. I have discovered that William Comins (Cumine on the record) was incarcerated 28th Feb. 1851 for two consecutive months, in North Riding Gaol, Northallerton, NRY.
I know the father but how do I discover the mother and child please? I need to find the "Twig" "Branch" or "Bough" and maybe it will solve someone elses mystery, I hope!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes to all,
Dana

The Quarter Sessions records were searched from April 1849 to April 1851 by an experienced researcher but nothing was found, unfortunately.

Hi Lost for Words :-)
Many thanks for your advice. I will try and drag my lovely experienced "Researcher" out of retirement and see if she has checked any of the three records which you have so kindly suggested.
