Thanks everyone for your help. I have just been looking back through my old notes and records on the Nutt family and came across an 1851 census entry for a Tom Nutt aged 2 b B,ham and his sister Sarah aged 8 b Leamington living in Aston with parents Thomas age 35 b Banbury and Sarah age 37 b Compton War. I haven't taken much notice of this before as I had no way of proving whether there was a connection , but now I am wondering if the Sarah Wiltshire on the 1871 census is Tom's sister, as I know they were both born in Leamington.
All the info I have is the possible above 1851 census, 1871 census , the 1881 census , the 1891 census that Glitter baby has just sent me and Walter's birth cert b 24.11.1873 25 Penn St Aston, Parents Thomas Nutt ,Mary Taylor.

Sarah

Sarah Report 27 Oct 2007 19:10

Please could someone look up one of my families for me on the 1891 census Birmingham and give me some advice as to what I should do next. I am finding it hard to trace them as I can't find a marriage for the parents . I have found them in 1881:

Thomas Nutt Head 31 b. Birmingham
Mary ( nee Taylor ) Wife 40 b. Kidderminster
Florence dau 13 B,ham
James son 11 B,ham
Thomas H. son 9 B,ham
Walter son 7 B,ham
Sabina Dau 3 B,ham
William Son 8m B,ham

Some GR members tried to help me a couple of weeks ago by looking for them on the 1871 census, but they were not there. They found a Tom Nutt
( who fitted age and birthplace ) who was a widower with a baby James age 7 months( which would also fit ). So it looks like Tom/Thomas was married before he met Mary, had his son James and something happened to his first wife. I sent away for James birth cert and found the mother was Sarah Tudor. I found a marriage for a Tom Nutt and Sarah Tudor in Mar 1870, James was born 8 Aug 1870. I then searched for the death of Sarah Nutt ( assuming she must have died in child birth or before the 1871 census was taken) but could not find her. Could she have left Tom , leaving the baby with him? I have found a birth for a Tom Nutt 1849 B,ham, do I assume that this and what the other GR members found out for me is my family? Tom died aged 49 in 1899 .Also what about Mary? Was she also married before and is Florence her daughter from a previous marriage? With a common name like Mary Taylor how am I going to find out about her ? There are several Mary Taylors born in Kidderminster 1840/41.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks

Sarah
