im having trouble finding him! what i mean is that i have his marriage certificate stating his fathers name as john william kettle. as some of you know, they cannot be found together on a census. well, ive been given the name of an orphanage in islington run or started by the rev c spurgeon that he may have been in seeing as the family story is that one of the kettles was found on the steps of an orphanange. in the search engine, the only record i can find is the 1881 census which walter would not have been on as he wasnt born until 2yrs later! i would be really grateful if anyone has any info!
thanks
