Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	Hi there I have done exceptionally well so far in tracing my family tree 7 generations on one side and a 173 years up to now ...phew, i have a problem now .... my grandmother Evelyn primrose Spencer married my grandfather Ernest Harold white in 1939 in nottingham this much i know, i know my grandmother was born in 1912, herein i have the problem i have no idea where she came from and i believe that she was adopted!, i can find no record of her birth anywhere or am i missing something? i don't know it is giving me a headache now and no one seems to know anything in my family please can someone help. many thanks for your time kindest regards Tracey

Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	I am all confused now ....and thats not difficult if my grandmother was born on 27th may 1912 her birth would not have been registered until possibly jul aug sept i understand that.... so she could not have a birth date of eptember could she? as in moody blue's reply or is this juts in this quarter sorry for being blonde! 	You need to buy some certificates to verify information and then give you more to work on - using the references given buy them from GRO online for £7. (I just saw you have 7 generations on one line - have you not got any certs for them?)

	You cannot proceed with any degree of certainty until you obtain Evelyn's marriage cert...........to find out the name and occupation of her father. With that info, you can order the birth cert, using the father's forename as a checking point.............. Reg
