Hi David and Tom
After 1912 when mother's maiden name was added to the index only the first christian name was given followed by initials of 2nd and other names so you need to search for William H

Hi
I'm trying to trace the birth place and any other information with regards to a William Henry Roberts c1914 and his family. His father had the same name and his mother's name was Annie Mary Roberts.
He was a leading stoker in the Royal Navy and was killed at sea on 3 May 1940, leaving a widow by the name of Gwendoline May Roberts, nee Selway. As far as I know, she was born in Portsmouth on the 8 April 1919.
If anyone thinks they can help me, then it would be most appreciated.

Regards David
