Glad to be of help Missnell. In Jan 2008 when LMA reopens let me know if you want anything else looked up.
You can get me by doing a search on Francis Bignell or James Sporle and my name should appear.
All the best.
Mahala.

Hello, Thank you so much for your time.Actually the info is really helpful. One of my ancestors was a JOHN BAVERSTOCK B C 1740. I have his son James(myGrandfather x 3) from his birth in1776 bap.St Sepulchre through to his death. Quite by chance some time ago I came across a marriage of a John Bav.to Sarah Dolen in St Mary Hornsey. The reason I wanted you to check was to see if there were any Baverstocks in their church records. My hunch was that it would be Sarah's parish.& so it would appear with no Baverstock families around in Hornsey. From 1776 a year after their marriage, a first child was Bap. in Marylebone St Mary's a further 4 known children were born to a John & Sarah ending with James all of whom were bap in St Sepulchre. Geographicaly it is about right - certainly I have a 'gut' instinct on this but I have been after John for over 6 years so could be wishful thinking! Grandfather James was an Excise man & I was hoping it perhaps may have been a family thing but have drawn a blank on everything I have searched. Thanks again .

Hello Missnell,
I visited LMA today and searched St. Mary, Hornsey, Cranley Gdns. reg. of burials 1736-1812 film X001/114.
I could find no Beaverstocks or any variations anywhere from 1736-1766. The register is very faded in parts and pages not all in sequence.
Also checked Reg. of marriages, index, film X102/122. This is a typed transcript of the early reg and the only thing even vaguely similar was an entry
9 May 1717
Joseph Burston and Elizabeth Blastock
[from ye Boarded River] .

Sorry I can't help further.
Mahala.

Thank you, apparently the LMA is closing for repairs on 2/11. but if you make it either then or later I wish to find out if any BAVERSTOCKS/BEV/BEAV deaths or marriages in St Mary, Hornsey(now borough of Harringay) prior to 1766 (I have a marriage for then,& am pretty sure that was the brides parish) Thank you again.
