My great-great-great grandfather was Thomas Durrance, born c. 1785 in Melton Leicestershire. His wife was called Sarah (c. 1793) and they had children. One I believe, was Charlotte Durance my great, great grandmother, (c. 1831) She married Charles Spinks, (born West Daren?, Norfolk c. 1818). Charlotte and Charles had children, John Thomas, Mary Elizabeth, Robert and Sarah Ann. Robert was my great grandfather. Can anyone help me to find out more and where does the name Durrance come from?
