Hi Joan

Sorry about that. I deleted the thread, because I realised that I had the same information on an earlier thread. I didn't want to tie up the boards with the same information....lol

Hi Sue

I think you may have found them. It does tie in with all of the information that I have on the family. And the dates and ages tie as well.
Thank you very much.

Claire in Wales, I think you have found who i am looking for, you were right. Christophers was married previously. I recieved the marriage certificate this morning, and the info and ages tie in nicely to the guy you found on the censuses.

Here is the info I have from the marriage certificate:
1902: St Lukes church, parish of Pallion: Durham
Christopher morton age 34, widower, bricklayer: 17 Rutland street: (Father) James Morton (deceased) Occupation: Brickmaker

Catherine Busfield 21 Spinster: 35 Potts Street: (Father) William Busfield (deceased) Occupation: Watchmaker

Thank you! Very much appreciated.

Ethel May Morton
21st may 1911

parents: Christopher Morton and Catherine Morton (nee busfield)
He was a Bricklayer

Within 10 minutes of having the cert, I had found the parents marriage oct/nov/dec 1902 in Sunderland

I am going to send off for the marriage cert as soon as I have a spare tenner in the bank.
