Thank you for your reply lindy. Is it quite common for there to be typing mistakes as in the 1881 & 91 census mary and emma appear to be 10 years younger and diferrent childrens names with similar ages appear in the 51 61 and 71 census.

Hi , Hope someone can help as I'm new to this.
My Great Grandfather was Arthur Walter Lewis Eagle born 1872, Died 1952. I'm trying to find his birth certificate.
1891 census names his mother as Sarah E Eagle & her mother as Anna Eagle (widow)
1881 names his mother as Emma Eagle and her mother as Anne Eagle.
I can't find any trace of any of them before this.
Arthur was born in the London area and Anne or Anna was born in Lincolnshire about 1811.
