Hi Elaine -- this birth looks a lot like your Freddy:

Name: Frederick W Dainty
Year of Registration: 1918
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Mother's Maiden Name: Johnson
District: Stone
County: Staffordshire
Volume: 6b
Page: 40

-- mother's name matches your Freddy's, middle name William is your Freddy's father's name. There is no twin birth registered (I checked the GRO image -- although there were twins Philip and Wilfred, mother Smith, registered in that quarter in Leigh).

Unfortunately, that Freddy died in 2002:

Name: Frederick William Dainty
Birth Date: 30 Dec 1917
Death Registration Month/Year: Sep 2002
Age at death (estimated): 84
Registration district: Stafford
Inferred County: Staffordshire
Register number: B43E
Entry Number: 1

Desperately trying to find Frederick(Freddy) Dainty. He was a twin, his twin's name was Robert(Bobby). They had another brother William(Bill). They lived in Custom House, East London. Freddy was born about 1918. Their parents were William Dainty and Elizabeth Johnson.

If anyone has any information about him, I would be most grateful, as I need to contact him.

Regards
Elaine Dainty
