maybe he came out of WW1 with a pension will have look for him on Ancestry.

Death certs for children were always listed as Son/daughter of and the fathers name Mum wasnt in the picture as far as registration was concerned unless the child was illegitimate

See if you can find him mentioned in the WW1 Pensions, on Ancestry

I have just received a copy of the death certifcate of my great aunt, who died in 1920 aged 1 year, very sad.
There is no mention of her mother on the cert, it says she was the daughter of George Temple ( my great grandfather ), ex army, he was also the informant. It is strange because her mother was still alive.
The family never mentioned George's army history,so this is the fiirst I have learnt of it, where do I find out more about this. He was the black sheep of the family and maybe that is why it hasnt been mentioned.
The family lived in Lancashire, but I obviously dont know a regiment. Where do i go from here
