Hello,

I am looking for William DONALDSON born 1847-1848 in Ireland. On the 1881 & 1891 census he was living in Milton Parish, Glasgow, Lanarkshire. Not sure if he was still living in the county by 1901. Would appreciate knowing where, and who he was residing with.

Hi Carrie,

Not sure if this is the man, his wife (and mother of his illegitimate child was called Jane).

I have not been able to find their marriage, however she did go by his name in 1881 census, when they were living in Dobbies Loan, Milton, Glasgow with their child William born 1878.

Jane was born in 1848c at Stranraer, Wigtownshire.

Sorry to impose, but could you possibly see if you can find her in 1901.

Can't see anything qwith those place names, Do you know what Janes 'Maiden' name was she may have gone back to it

Hi Carrie

Her maiden name was Baird. I have searched Scotlands People for her marriage (anywhere in Scotland over a 50 year period ) but came up with a big fat zilch.

Could I possibly ask if you could do a look on 1891 census. On SP there is a Jane Donaldson aged 43 years residing in Milton Glasgow.
