Oh yes, not unknown!!

Maybe one had been married before, and first spouse was still alive!

May be just couldn't be bothered!

But several people on here have found ancestors who were together for many years before getting married.

Evening All,

I have an Edward William Stevens born in 1853 in Middlesex, Uxbridge District. Parents are a John Stevens and Susannah (Susan). John was born around 1810 and Susannah was born roughly 10 years later around 1820.

The thing im confused about is their marriage; because I havent been able to find a marriage for them, and id presume they got married before they had their first child which was at the start of 1840. But the thing that has confused me is on the familysearch website where they have listed edward on the IGI and the parents, John stevens and Susan with a maiden name...BALL...which id figure..."rite i got a maiden name"..(i think)...cant find a marriage, but coinsidently..i find a marriage later on in 1862 in the same district uxbridge...with the exact names...John Stevens and Susanna Ball?

Is it possible to be them?....i mean could they have got married after they had all their children and were into their late 40's, early 50's?...Just looks like a coinsidence...?...could it be them?....opinions plzzzzz

Regards xxx
