Find Ancestors

I have the marriage certificate, for my grandfather but can't find his birth or death, too many William James Kelly's. There are a few William James Kelly's in the regiment and it's more difficult as we don't have a regiment number. Can anybody help please, or have ideas of where to start?

Sorry, about the late reply, had the blue screen of death last night on my computer! The joys of Vista.

Thank you to all of the above for the info, it at least allows me to discount some, and yes that is my Aunt Kath, Brenda.

Julie, it does not state his occupation, only that he was a private, and nobody from the Queens regiment can really pin him down without knowing where/when he was born as there are a few William James'.
