I tried freebmd for births between 1914 and 1921 for Joan Holderness, Hammond, or Hatcher

Nothing for any births in Buckinghamshire.

Several with those names when I removed the birth county, but only this one had a mmn approaching her mother's name

Births Mar 1921 (56%)

Hammond Joan W Hammond Solihull 6d 1536

She had to have been registered.

Her mother's maiden name ahd to be on the registration (it's after 1911 which is the ealriest the registrations show this, although mmn are on the actual certificate)

Could she have been registered under another name

Could her mother have used a false name?

If Joan was born abt 1918, and her mum married Leonard in 1943 what makes you think Joan is a Hatcher

Im trying to find information on a Joan Hatcher or Holderness born i think Buckinghamshire abt 1918?
Her mother was Alice Maude Hatcher formly Holderness nee Hammond and married Percy Edward Holderness 1912 and then married Leonard John Hatcher 1943.
Joan died when she was seventeen in an institution.
