The first mention I can find of my GGGrandfather, Gaetano TRIULZI is in the 1851 census with his wife Margaret and son, Louis aged 5. His place of birth is given as Milan, Italy and his occupation is Professor of Languages which seems to be rather a lofty title for a 30 year old. They were living at 47, Old Compton Street, Strand. Any ideas about how to proceed further back to find out where he worked or even a record of his immigration to England. |

Sorry I can't help with your query, but thought I'd put these details on (although I expect you have the details already). His death:- |

I did have that information but I do thank you, Kathleen, for your interest. Gaetano seems to be a man of mystery. When I found out that he was a language professor I thought I may have inherited the talent. Unfortunately - Not!! |

Thanks, Sylvia, that information gives me somewhere to start. At least now I have a bit more info about where he was born. I would have never thought of spelling his name that way. Did find Louis on the Morman site but will try with the different spelling now. |

I've got most of the other information about the Triulzi's after the birth of Louis, who by the way was an Heraldic embosser and worked for a stationery firm in London. I would really like to find out how and why Gaetano left Italy and went to UK but a marriage cert may give me more details. |
