Born in Finland (or Sweden) 1869 and married Florence Pursglove in Goole 1903. Has anyone got any further information please?

Have you bought their marriage certificate - that would be the first step.

Use this reference and buy the cert for £7 from GRO online - it will give you his fathers name and occupation and possibly more detail:

There's this Florence on the 1901 census in Goole. Her name has been transcribed as Puroglove but it could be Pursglove. There is a 1 year old Ellen Pursglove with her. The head of the family is William Couldwell but his wife is Eliza Coldwell. A sloppy enumerator, I think!

There's a Florence Pursglove on the 1891 census, aged 16, born Sheffield. She's a servant in Nether Hallam, Sheffield, Yorks. She's been mistranscribed as Pursglow but original is Pursglove.
