My great grandmother Clara May Wood nee Hutchings, had a tragic end to her life, a year after her husband, Charles Edward Wood died she took her own live by drowing in the New River, near Enfield, perhaps she could not cope on her own, she was also deaf so could have felt unable to cope with out him or did a further tragedy occur, perhaps to one of her children

Hi Lyn

Sometimes when I can't see a marriage & have searched the GRO index with a fine tooth comb I turn my attentions at deaths.......not everyone of my ancestors wished to marry they seemed to like thier own company ALOT .......

Hope this is of help to you .

Daunting task going via deaths...but as you say not all married, but looks like I might have to go that way, I hope you managed to find some going that route. Lynda
